Mrs. Hyatt’s Fourth/Fifth Grade
Welcome!! We are learning and growing together this year in room 202! Check out the Year Plan for our class to see what we will be studying!
Meet Mrs. Hyatt
I have been teaching elementary school for four years. This is my fifth year and my first year in Colorado! I am from North Carolina where I grew up in a little town called Lenoir. It is near the Appalachian Mountains so I have always been a mountain lover. My husband and I have always dreamed of living in Colorado so we decided to make the move this past summer. We came here with our cat and two dogs. They love all the outdoor adventures they have experienced so far (except the nasty raccoons and scary mountain lions)!!! I am enjoying working at Georgetown Community School where the children are wonderful and the parents are so supportive. I can’t imagine a better place!
Every night Monday-Thursday students will have a math lesson to complete, a spelling activity, and reading. Please make sure your child is recording their reading on their reading calendars. Each month students have a reading project to complete that goes along with their reading at home. The rubric for these usually comes home during the first week of each month and they are due near the end of the month. Occasionally students will also have a Science or Social Studies project to complete. Check your child’s planner for due dates.
Weekly Newsletter Check Wednesday folders for the “Turtle Express” newsletter. This will keep you up-to-date with what’s going on in our classroom!!
