Early Education

Early childhood is where the journey for education begins. At Georgetown Community School we feel honored to be a part of that journey with your family. We believe that children’s early years build an important foundation for their future. Therefore our goal is to provide positive learning experiences through meaningful interactions with teachers, peers, and the environment. We are an inclusive program that celebrates the needs of all children and their families. Overall we cherish the enthusiasm, curiosity and joy that young children inspire in the learning process!

The whole art of teaching is the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds

Our Programs

Infant Program: Ages 6 weeks to 18 months

Our infant program provides a safe, stimulating environment for little ones to explore with the support of nurturing teachers. Teachers focus on establishing close relationships with each child and providing individualized attention. We follow individualized feeding, playing, and sleeping schedules based on children’s cues and families’ input. We value daily care routines as an opportunity to bond with children and enhance their development. To help young minds flourish we balance infant curriculum with comfort, safety, and interesting new experiences.

Toddler Program: Ages 12 months to 3 years old

Our toddler program provides new discoveries and challenges for children that foster all areas of development. Teachers aim to support the growing independence of toddlers by offering activities that reflect their ideas and interests. Active, hands-on, sensory based activities and materials are the focus of the toddler curriculum. In effort to empower children to become responsible and confident, teachers encourage children to make meaningful choices throughout the day. The ratio is one teacher to every 5 children with a maximum of 10 children.

Preschool Program: Ages 2.5 years to 4 years old

Our preschool program uses an integrated curriculum approach to offer a learning environment that fosters emerging academic skills through play-based activities. A play based approach provides children the tools to become creative thinkers and problem-solvers. Concepts such as reading, writing, math, and science are embedded into daily routines and activities. The ratio is one teacher to every 9 children with a maximum of 18 children.

Pre-kindergarten Program: Ages 4 years to 5 years old
Our preK classes are introduced to the basic classroom structure with Open Court Reading and the Core Knowledge preschool sequence in addition to the traditional early education.
